He studied sculpting with Moshe Sternschuss (1947 - 1950) and Rudi Lehmann (1954) and then went to London where he enrolled at the St. Martin’s School of Art and Design. Kadishman returned to Israel in 1972 where he was awarded the Dizengoff Prize for sculpture in 1990 and the Israel Prize for sculpture in 1995.

From October 1782 until the spring of 1783, as 7,000 soldiers and 500 "camp followers" were establishing winter quarters at the New Windsor Cantonment, and General Washington was lodged at Jonathan Hasbrouck's house in Newburgh, New York, Major General Horatio Gates occupied the elegant home from which he commanded the cantonment.
