Teatown Lake Reservation is located in the Towns of Yorktown, Cortlandt and New Castle. Teatown's postal address is: 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining, NY, 10562.

From Teatown Lake Reservation: "Teatown teaches ecology and encourages responsible interaction with nature. The goal of our educational programs is to instill a love of the environment, positive attitudes toward conservation and environmental protection and a sense of personal and civic responsibility. We have programs for school groups, scouts, children, teens, families and adults.

"Protection of Teatown's varied habitats and its biological diversity is our ongoing responsibility. Our science-based stewardship program studies, documents and monitors the reservation's habitats, plants and animals to assess their ecological health and conservation status. With this information, we are better able to manage our preserve and protects its ecological communities.

"Teatown promotes a sustainable future by providing the region with leadership, information and education in environmental conservation. Teatown works with civic leaders, scientists and the public to facilitate awareness of local environmental issues and to develop practical solutions.

"This bioregion includes parts of five counties: Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland and Orange. Nearly 80% of the region lies east of the Hudson River in Westchester and Putnam counties. About 785,000 people share the 936-square-mile area with a rich diversity of habitats, plant and animals. The nationally-acclaimed Hudson River Estuary and majestic Hudson Highlands form the region’s backbone."

Educational Programs Teatown’s educators offer adult, family, and children’s programs to over 18,000 participants annually, including nearly 9,000 school children and 700 summer campers. Annually, over 10,000 hikers traverse Teatown's 15 miles of scenic trails that span abundant fields, mixed forests, lakes, streams, swamps and farm land.

Hiking Trails at Teatown
"Teatown’s nearly 15 miles of trails are used annually by over 15,000 hikers for nature study and other outdoor enjoyment (e.g. jogging, cross country skiing, snowshoeing) and for many of our year-round education activities, including our summer nature camp. Teatown maintains fourteen trails that traverse diverse terrain and habitats, including abundant fields, mixed hardwood forests, laurel groves, lakes, streams, swamps and farm land. The trails range from easy/novice to moderately difficult. Teatown's preserve provides visitors with a unique glimpse of the biological diversity of the entire Hudson Hills and Highlands region. The trails connect to the Briarcliff Peekskill Trailway and the Croton Aqueduct Trail."
